new turnings

I haven't done any turning since February. I moved twice and got married and had to build a garage and rebuild a garage into a workshop. Just got the building done and moved everything in. I got the major tools set up and now starting the mess of emptying all the boxes and figuring out where to put stuff.
As I was doing that I got an order for some ornaments from the Governors wife. Can't pass that up so I managed to find enough of my lathe tools and sharpeners to get to work.
So here are the first turnings from 2015. I will be doing a bunch more.

I just realized that you are John Lucas. What happened to your other account?

When I had a computer melt down I had to redo a lot of these accounts. This site simply would not let me use my old name.

Nice ornaments! That's something that I've never had the patience for. Never did get into spindle turning here. I'm just a bowl guy.

Do you do any boxes?

I had wondered about this.

I understand that the site would not let you create a new account with your old name.
I don't understand why a computer meltdown would prevent you from using the old account, though.
If you'd lost/forgotten password(s) in the meltdown (been there, done that), the site should email you a new one, no?

Very nice ornaments. I'm still waiting on a call from Her Majesty for Christmas ornaments.

He got married and changed his name.

I'm dyslexic, so I figured that John finally figured out how to spell his name right.

Yeah, ... and the dog ate my homework (that's the story that the kids gave my wife when she was still teaching). Both stories are equally believable.

Like you, I've never forgotten a password ... but, sometimes the computer gets confused ... I'm sticking with that story. The only reason that I write them down is at Mrs. B's insistence.

I had problems on several sites and simply had to change my name. they would not let me in and I couldn't find humans to talk to for the answers.
I sat through a demo with Jimmy Clewes the other day and he said that spindle turning was the best thing you could do to improve your turning skills. I agree 100 percent.

If you contact the administrator or a mod on this site, they should be able to do one of two things:
  1. Merge your new account into your original one -- OR --
  2. Ban you
I'm not sure which way they might decide to go on this one. I think that banning is the preferred route because it is less work.
(For due consideration, I can make a favorable recommendation to the head honcho).

Bill I never could figure out how to contact anyone. Anyway it's done now and I'm here so I don't need to work on it anymore.
