Default new to the site

This is my first post and I thought I would start my memebership to the site with this. I injured my back last year, quite seriously unfortunately and I am just returning to my lathe. Although I couldn't do much in my shop for over 7 months I was able to clean up a bit. I came across an old 3/8" chisel which looked exactly like a Bedan tool. The chisel belonged to my Dad, with whom I was unable to live (foster home) because had been a POW for 5 years and was in pretty bad shape. Imagine my pleasure and pride when I was able to match the shaft of his chisel to one of my home made oiled elm handles, sharpen it and put it to work. During the short years I was with him, one of the few things I remember about my Dad was he never wasted so much as a bent nail. I'm 64 and I think he would approve
