Default nderson Island Washington

Good afternoon I am a retired woodworking hobbyist living on a small island in Puget Sound. My projects are small and usually marine related. I'm hoping to gain some insight to improving my simple technique by reading your discussions and asking a few questions when appropriate. Any and all advice will be appreciated. Holden

Welcome.

I was just wondering where your little island is at there in Puget Sound. I was born & raised in Wa. I've lived from Tenino to Tacoma. Still have family there.

Thank you Woodworks, Anderson Island is 3mi. SW of the Steilacoom ferry dock halfway between Tacoma and Olympia. It is the Southernmost populated island in Puget Sound with aproximately 1,000 year round residents and 3,000 in the summer. We moved here for the peace and qoiet and haven't been dissapointed. Watching wild deer nurse their fawns in the back yard has become a normal sight. Holden

Wow, it has been longer then I can remember since I've been there. I don't even remember Anderson Island.
I don't know why, but I can only remember and picture Vashon Island. Maybe that is because I would go there to see a friend.

I moved away from there when I was about 18. I'm a wee bit older now (54). But I do remember all the peace & quite around that area. I used to hitch hike from Tacoma to Olympia and would almost always get stuck at Fort Lewis because that is as far as the guys would go. I'd be stuck there for hours on end waiting for someone to come along to finish the trip of going or coming, whichever the way to be.

Good to talk with you. I'll be seeing you around in the forums. Have fun and take care.
