Default Hello from PA

New member here in northeast PA. I'm a DIY'er that became fascinated with wood working. My wife and I rebuilt two homes in our lifetime. Almost done with the second one (yeah right). I've done all of my own carpentry with the exception of the shell of the addition. I did my own plumbing, electrical and heating system.

For my first wood working project I started building wainscoting and a new staircase. Nothing like jumping into the deep end blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back. So far it has been a lot of fun. One of the biggest lessons I've learned through this project is what I don't know can fill a library.

I've been pushing on this project for a couple of months non stop because I have a December deadline. If this project isn't done by my daughter's wedding I'll be building a dog house for the yard as a permanent residence. Ah well, after 31 years of marriage the dog house deal doesn't frighten me much.

I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from this site. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the forum. I would finish that staircase quick. That dog house will be pretty cold this winter! Good luck.
