Default Hello from Nebraska

Hello all,

My name is John Cutler, I've been into woodworking for about four years now, ever since I retired from the Air Force. I have the basics as far as tools go (TS, CMS, drill press, assorted sanders, etc), and it takes me forever to actually finish a project, but I love working with wood.

I build mostly furniture for the family, such as bookcases, nightstands, dressers, and a loft bed for my oldest son. Just finished a shop cabinet for the drill press. I consider myself a fairly experienced beginner Anyway, this looks like a friendly, down-home kinda place, and I look forward to participating.

Welcome to the Forum John and thanks for your service! It's nice for me to see someone from NE. join the fun. I was born and raised in NE and retired recently from the Air Force also. I have a lot of family in NE and a vacation home on the Missouri river. I think you will enjoy it here, lots of great advice, tool reviews etc. Enjoy!

Welcome JAC. I think you'll like it here. You're right about the heat and humidity, it's a real bummer. My shop has AC

Welcome to the our little forum.....
Where abouts in eastern Nebraska are you located?
I lived in Weastern Nebraska for about 10 yrs. ( Sidney area)
Out there it also gets hot..... but it's not so bad because it's a 'dry' heat.
Still is hot.... Hot is Hot.... but humidity does make it seem worse.

We are just south of Plattsmouth, which is 20 miles or so south of Omaha...pretty close to the Iowa border. Not too bad today, and it's supposed to only be the 80s next week. Gotta be thankful for small favors!
