Hello from Del City, OKlahoma.

Hello Woodworkers! I've been reading this forum for several weeks now and thought it was time to finally post. I'm currently in Del City, just southeast of Oklahoma City and bought a house this spring. With new homeownership comes added 'joys' of trying to fix a few things here and there. While I fix things around the house I'm acquiring several tools and am trying to maintain as much of the woodwork as possible. The house has several built in shelves, closets, and trim throughout and I was recently given back an oak rocking chair for my daughter that I had made in high school, all of which have spurred my interest in woodworking again. I've built a few homes before graduating and took a woodworking class in high school which was nearly ten years ago and the last time i've been making sawdust.
After I readjust a few door jambs that are missing shims and winterize the home a little more I have a refinishing job that my wife wants done. She said that if I refinish the table and set of chairs that I can start to build things again. So for the next week or two I'll be clearing room in my garage and posting pictures of my major task and asking a lot of questions so I can get back into woodworking, and have a refinished table too. My major interest in woodworking is making furniture but am open to new challenges. Since my brother procured my tools years ago I'll be starting fairly fresh. I'm looking forward to gain more insight from everyone here and hope to improve my skills significantly in due time.

Oliver

Welcome to the forum. Isn't it a pain how the honey-do jobs get in the way of the fun work?

You can never have too much pepperoni on your pizza or own too many clamps.

But if the honey-do lists don't get done, then nothing will be fun. And yes I said lists, she makes them for internal to and external of the house. I think it's so she can keep writing one while the other gets done :)

Welcome to the forum. That's how I got started, by redoing an old house. Look out, once she finds you can build things the lists will get longer and more complex! HaHa!
