Default Hello from Central Illinois

Good afternoon, my name is Mark. I have been lurking around the site for the last week or so and thought I should say Hello. I have been woodworking for many years, but just recently decided to get serious about it. I am finding the site full of insight, tips, tricks and humor which is always a good thing.

One of my first project was made of pine and I had no idea what I was doing. I just grabbed some wood and started cutting and nailing. Here is the result (my wife dubbed this the chicken leg table)

She is not laughing quite so much when she returned from a trip and found this hanging on the wall.

She liked it so much that she asked me to build this book case to go with it.

I expect to get many ideas from this site and hope that I can contribute as well.

Mark

I like your wall shelf and book case.

Are those your own designs?

I like the "prairie window" motif.

Default Thank you for the encouragement

Wormwood, the bookcase is all my design, but the shelves are an adaptation of something I saw in a catalog.

And again, Welcome, neighbor! I'm in Bartonville; to help with your geography, we are the Creve Coeur sister city.

Good to have you on board, Mark....keep up the pictures and the good work.

Well Welcome to the forum. I am a little far south to be a neighbor, but that don't mean we cant be friends. Anyone who works with wood is a friend of mine.
