Default Greetings from the road!

I have posted a couple of threads already, so I guess it's only right that I introduce myself.

I am a retired Marine living outside Camp Lejeune. I really enjoy building furniture and cabinets, but right now my love is canoes! I also recently built my first paddle after seeing one a buddy of mine bought online. I didn't think the quality of his was very good, and it motivated me to make one (BETTER). I posted it on here in the finished projects.

I have a blog that I started just for me to keep a record of the canoe building process as I went through it for the first time start to finish. You can check it out at http://whatsjamesdoingtoday.blogspot.com.

I look forward to establishing contacts and exchanging ideas and techniques on here. I also consider myself pretty knowledgeable on many aspects of woodworking (not an expert, just a student) and would love to help wherever I can. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you think I can help.

I hope this doesn't sound egotistical of me (being the new guy and all). I really am just a humble guy.

Anyhow, I look forward to hearing from you all. Take care!

One last thing. Can someone tell me how to assign a picture to my profile and add a signature line? Thanks.

James

Default I checked out your "blog"

Very nice work and a great personal touch, those step by step photos reveal a lot more. You've got a great hobby and a very nice deal on that Unisaw! I didn't sign in since you will be posting more photos here...right? bill

I like your canoe, I had a heavy figerglass one for about 40 yrs. I got it when I was in 8th grade and used it many years to fish in Southern Wisc. Yours is so nice I don't think I'd put it in water. Sam Maloof has a wooden canoe hanging in his house that a friend of his made. It's like art work, just nice to look at. I'll start checking your blog and maybe just maybe think about making one. Never say never as I never thought I'd make a Maloof rocking chair but I did and continue to. www.trident98.blogspot.com
