Default Greetings from NE Colorado

Hi everyone!

I'm Steve from NE Colorado. New to wood working, but been fascinated with it for quite some time. now that I'm getting older I'm finding more opportunity to pursue this. That and the GF is finding lots for me to do.

My skills are somewhat limited but the two projects I've recently done are a new shelf for the pantry, (more on the horizon) and a cabinet for the bathroom. The cabinet is pretty rough but I'll post pics later. I'm just about done with it, just have to paint it. I wish i would have found this forum last week as there were some definite problem solving suggestions here! unfortunately I'm working with only a jig saw but have put in a request for a circular saw for Xmas. It definately would have helped my frustration level with the bathroom cabinet!

Anyway I hope to learn more and meet more of you as I have many more projects on the horizon.

Make yourself a guide for the saws using scrap hardboard or ply.

I got idea from this forum and used piece of alloy angle as a straight edge. search utube for videos showing how to make. A guide gives you benefit of table saw without expense.

Thanks for the advice, I read about that in another post. I also discovered that my GFs son has a circular saw so I'll probably borrow that for the next project. Still through, the guide is a definite must do!
