Default Greetings from Canada

Hi,
introducing myself here. I'm from NW Ontario, Canada, on the border with Minnesota.
I have been working in/with wood for as long as I can remember. Within the last two years I finally got a place with a shop that is large enough to do some serious wood work. I have been collecting the necessary tools for years, some I inherited from my father and others I purchase as I go.
Years ago I worked in a lot of "fake" wood, MDF etc. in building speaker enclosures. I do not have a great deal of experience in different woods but I have a few good books on the subject. I am hoping to eventually build my own kitchen cabinets and I think I am close to having all the necessary tools.

I'll probably do a bit of lurking around the forums for awhile and try to ask as few amateur questions as possible. Once I'm comfy here and ready to start, I'll undoubtedly be asking more.

Looks like a great site, can't wait to dig in!

Welcome aboard. It IS a great site and you should never feel that any question you have are too amateur to ask. Most of us LOVE it when someone asks a question we can actually answer and when we can't answer it ourselves we learn something new when someone else does, so fire away.

If you're interested in learning more about different woods, check out the site referenced below my name.

Inno,
Welcome to the forum. Nice detailed introduction. Sounds like you are ready to make something. Pick a project and get warmed up for that kitchen project.
