Default Another Noobie

Greetings all

Other than woodshop in High School, I am a newbie to woodworking. I am currently in the process of converting the garage into a woodshop and have acquired a very nice tablesaw/router table as well as a Delta dust collector. I have also built a very sturdy workbench as a first project. I would like to figure out how to use Sketchup to further design the workshop and a much larger future project is a large shed in the back yard to replace the existing metal shed. As a new grandpa, I think it would be cool to make items for my grandson and as he ages, get him involved in woodworking projects. My father wasn't much into woodworking but introduced me to a wheelchair bound friend of his that was an awesome woodworker and I loved spending time working with him. He was very instrumental in helping me build my first pinewood derby car.

Outside of woodworking I love to sail. The Mrs and I have a beautiful 36 ft Catalina sailboat that we spend a lot of time on. It has a beautiful teak interior and I would love to be able to marry my woodworking hobby with my boating obsession.

That's my intro.....
