SketchUp Tutorial - Woodworking Talk

For anyone interested, I have begun posting a new multipart SketchUp tutorial titled “An Intermediate Google SketchUp Tutorial”. Part 1 has been posted on my blog http://www.srww.com/blog . Part 2 will appear in the next few days.

This tutorial builds on my previous multipart beginner’s SketchUp tutorial titled “Drawing A Bedside Table” ( http://www.srww.com/google-sketchup.htm ). This new tutorial focuses on modeling furniture pieces which require components that are curved. It begins with very simple curves created via circles and progresses to complex components with curves created via Bezier curves.

This tutorial will probably require six parts to complete. I am trying something new. Each installment, in addition to appearing on my website’s blog, can be obtained on a CD in AVI video format. These videos are not intended to be professional productions, simply raw capture of SketchUp as I draw and explain a component. They will be essentially free, though I will charge a nominal $6 to cover the disc, case, mailing envelope and mailing charges.

You can purchase each part as it is available for $6 each, or wait until I have completed them all and get the entire tutorial on one disc for $6. Simply send email to jpz@srww.com with your mailing address and I will get it to you in a few days.

As you can see, I am not making any money on this or my other tutorials (search my blog for others including photography). But I would appreciate it if you gave me feedback, positive or negative, on my Feedback page ( http://www.srww.com/blog/?page_id=156 ) so that I can improve these with time.
