If you're intent on spending $200... Buy a good Circular saw and a cutting guide/straight edge. You'll get far better cuts from that setup than you would from this saw... I bought this last summer and have come to seriously regret it.

The stand is far from stable. Any time you had to apply any kind of actual pressure... The saw would begin to tilt. Not a comfortable feeling when there is a razor sharp disc spinning at few thousand RPM!

The fence is a joke. The first time I applied any really pressure against the fence it popped right out of position. The right extension wing was just as feeble. Any time there was actual weight resting on the wing while it was extended... It would sag and create it's own assortment of problems.

The miter, and it's slots... Yet another joke. First the slots aren't of standard size so common aftermarket accessories wouldn't fit. Then the miter guage itself is flimsy and wobbled in the slot.

I can't vouch for power as I never tried cutting any hard woods with this saw. I'm guessing that it wouldn't do very well though. Had no problems cutting pine, and sheet goods.

The best feature about this saw is that it folds up nicely and can be tucked away out of site. I thought about selling it on the used market but I can't bring myself to inflict this hunk of junk on some poor unsuspecting buyer.

The best thing I got out of this saw was experience in what not to buy. I have heard good, first hand, reviews regarding the DeWalt jobsite saw, and the Bosch saw. If I had a need for a "portable" table saw... Those would be the only two options I would ever consider.

Rob. I agree. I bought this same saw for my jobsite trailer, regreted it the first time I used it. Sold it as a throw away saw for 40.00.
I bought the Rigid TS2400 to replace it because it was the saw that I saw alot of other carpenters using. Have never regreted it.
Great saw.

I can't speak to the c10fr, but I believe the picture you posted is of the c10ra3, which goes for about $100 more. I picked up the c10ra3 about 3 months ago, and I think it's a pretty good value. I love the acreage of the wide table, and the extension wing has been rock-solid so far. I've had no problem with power, though I've only been ripping poplar and maple...

The only complaint I have is that I've had to reset the 45 degree bevel stop a couple of times. Can't quite figure out why it keeps creeping on me...

All in all, I'd buy the saw again. It's had the opposite effect on me an it did on TexasTimbers: makes me want to buy more Hitachi. Anyone have a word about their jigsaws???

Ahhh, I didn't even notice that! I've edited the post and put the correct picture in there. Thanks!

We just had our primary TV die so it looks like I'm gonna have to make this thing work for me a bit longer. I'm hoping a little sanding/waxing, and new blade will make this thing a little easier to use.

Luv, luv my Dewalt Jobsite saw. But I put a $90 Ridgid 80 tooth blade in it.
- Quiet.. Although I have heard many complaints about noise on other saws, this one I hardly need hearing protection.
- Powerful - cuts solid oak like butter
- The fence is very firm and quite adjustable
- Light, 45 pounds
- No complaints about the mitre, but it does look a bit sloppy

jemmy,

Check the nut on the front of the wheel. Mine wiggles loose every now and again, making the cranking slow and wobbly. A couple of quick turns and its going smooth again.

If that isn't it, let me know and I'll poke around mine to see if anything seems like a potential culprit...
