Default Stanley Type 16 #3 Smoother

Here's a really nice example of a type 16 ('33-'41) pre war #3 smoother, the first with the kidney shaped lever cap hole. Everything is correct for type and works just fine, see cherry shavings below. No cracks, etc. in metal nor in rosewood tote and knob; someone began to refinish the tote but never finished the job, so I waxed it. Noteworthy for having 95% Japanning on body. Only slight apology is sole had some light rust where it sat on some newspaper for who knows how long-see last pic; very, very light rust marks on sole, to call them pitting would be harsh; but does not affect use and if they bother you then lap it out - line is not a crack but stain line from the paper.

Will make an excellent user, and this plane is in really nice shape for its age with a lot of work left in it. Yours for $48 plus shipping. Payment by US Postal Money Order please. PM your zip for a shipping quote. First PM saying "I'll take it" gets it.

Thanks for looking. RN
