I usually will take jigs that r made in the shop or something i get the idea for and will make drawings of them for long term keep sake kind of thing. I am going to have to get cracking on posting some free bees. I Also take challenges for drawings and engineer, so if there is something that you want to see let me know.

Unhappy My thoughts on the classifieds.

I fully understand and support the 25 post limit to sell things, it is a common policy on most of the forums I frequent. BUT, LOL, you knew that was coming.
Why would you want to also limit those of us who are in need of things to get started in the wonderful world of woodworking. There are a few things I need that are not the easiest to find and a few others that are simply beyond my current budget to buy new. I realize this would probably necessitate separating the for sale section from the wanted section, but I see it as a benefit to all. Newbies have a chance to find things they need and the old hands can unload some of that stuff on the shelf gathering dust that they forgot about. Just my two cents.
And yes I know that 25 posts aren't that big a deal, but I am not the type to scatter bomb posts all over the place just to get there.
Thanks for listening, ahhhh, reading.

A wise man once told me, "Relax and enjoy life, cause you'll never get out of here alive." RIP Dad

Moved to Kerrville texas, from houston area. Gotta sell off what's left of my cabinet shop back there. still gonna build furniture out here, but don't want another cabinet shop. Big investment with a small return. I wish someone had told me that when I was young. I guess you tend to do what you like doing.

Hi,
I am sorry I signed up too hastily before reading your rules. I am not a wood-worker (though my husband is and I will share this site with him). My husband recently took a job in IL and we need to sell a lot of his wood-working tools and a shed full of rough sawn lumber (white & red oak, maple, hackberry, cedar, etc) and as I am having to tend to this, I was looking for some advice on how much to charge for the wood per board foot? I was hoping some of your readers would be able to help out, but now I see your restrictions and I will honor those and not post anything for sale. However, if you (the moderator) wouldn't mind telling me where I can go to learn how to price the wood (we cut it down ourself and had it milled years ago.)? If not, thank you anyway and I will figure out how to remove myself from your forum as I am not ableto add much, other than I really like the end product that crafters produce.

I think it needs to be remembered that forums are also a valuable place for people to try and gain knowledge they may not necessarily have, and therefore cannot post...... I just want to PM a guy who has made an amazing model and ask a few questions i dont really want public but cant as don't have 5 posts....

Post a message on his profile.

There is a very fine line between a "hobby" and a "mental illness"

This is for used tools and extra woodworking supplies. You may not use this classified section as a sales aid for your business. We have this section as a courtesy to our members and will not tolerate people using to sell things for their businesses.

The staff have the right to disqualify anyone we feel is not using this areas the way it was meant to be used for any reason.

Continuing to do so will result in your membership being revoked and your account being banned.

So, you read the rules and decided to sell stuff anyway?

The rule exists so only people interested in woodworking are members here. It adds too much clutter if a lot of people join to sell something and then after the sale never come back.

Hello Daren,

Just joined so I'm a newbee here, but looking forward to being part of the forum. Quick question: where would I post a wanted (looking for a riser block for a Delta 14" bandsaw to do some resawing)? Would that go under tools, and is that subject to the 25 post rule?

Thank you,
Chris

Welcome to the club. Daren hasn't been here in more than a year. You could post your message in the tool section. I doubt if any of us will have a riser block for you but someone may help you find one. Be sure to post the model number of your bandsaw. The 25 post rule really only applies to someone selling something.

Try again and get back to me if you still can't. Keep in mind the classifieds is for someone selling tools or wood they have no use for anymore, not to advertise their business or sell items they are making to sell.

This is a Forum for discussing the various aspects of woodworking, providing tips and advice to it's members. Contributing members having a post count of 25 or more would be eligible to post an ad in Classified for their personal tools or supplies.

One time newbies with 1 post can not considered "contributing" members. This is not a Forum on which to sell stuff, that part is a service provided to it's contributing members. You want to sell some stuff? Stick around and participate in the discussions.

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specfic. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo
