Default Free To Good Home

Actually I don't care if it is a good home or not. It's still free.

I pulled this out of the trash at my friends house. He said he couldn't remember what it was missing, but it has something to do with tightening the belt.

It is a 4" craftsman belt sander. The model # is 315.11781.

All I can tell you is that when I plugged it in, it ran and sounded just fine in that department. It was setting outside so it had a bit of rust, but the motor sounds ok to me.

All you do is pay S&H.

This link is from a google search. You can choose which one to visit.

Thanks for looking

Ok, thought I'd check and see if this had any takers, and since it didn't, I see no reason for me to hang on to it.

So if one of you moderators want to take this out of here, please feel free to do so. By this time it is just taking up space.

Thanks anyway folks.

Yes, I just looked and it's still in the basement. I'll have to box it up and find out how much to ship it. If you will give me your address, I'll get you a price.

Thank you, Jay. I am out of town, and was gone when pkg arrived, but will ask my mrs to give me address and postage amount from box on Monday, and send money order. Thanks again.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I know a letter doesn't take as long as a package so I'm wondering what has happened. He doesn't answer my private messages and I don't have any other way of contacting him except through here.

I do like to give the benefit of the doubt, so I hope it works out.

Default I made a similiar offer once

I shipped some old table saw parts (free) and then threw in the shipping ($11.00) as well. Sort of "paid it forward" as that saying goes. I think you have to be willing to write this off as a gesture of good will. You never know what happened at the other end and if you haven't heard.....oh well, nothing you can do. bill

I don't mind doing something for someone and going out of my way while doing it. It would have been nice if the guy would have said he couldn't afford the shipping. People have been nice to me in several of these chat places and given me things. There is one guy in this place (not allowed to mention his name) that has gone well above the line with me, and it is well appreciated, so I'm not against passing it on. I just like to know up front that I'm doing it.

And just in case that certain guy reads this, I still thank you for all you've done.

Well Jay I have to say I commend you for keeping it classy, and not letting his lack of integrity make you blow a gasket.

I know we all tend to think the worst when something like this happens (myself included), but there's always the possibility the guy could be pushing up daisies.

You do have his name and address, so try the white pages to get his phne number if you want to pursue it.

Good luck.

The guy finally pm'ed me. He says his wife is to blame. I can totally relate to that seeing as how it's always the womans fault.

I figure it like this, I posted it and what he does after that is on him. Since he seems to be on the up and up, I'll just wait and expect the best. Either way it goes, I was able to help someone and that's what it's all about in the end. I'll make sure I post the outcome, so that you guys know. I don't want to ruin his rep just because his wife can't get things straight. If it was turned around, I know it would be my wife's fault. She is to blame for everything. Unless of course she is standing right over me. Then of course it's my fault.

Default It's no longer in the mail

Hey guys, I told you I would let you know the outcome...

I received the personal check and it went through my bank and so far it hasn't come back.

Arby54 seems to be a nice guy from the pm's I've received from him. I think this is just one of those things that take place when you expect things to go so smoothly and then they don't.

He did confide in me that he is going to need some help in here and I know how good some of you guys are from the times you've helped me. Since he is new here, I hope all of you will give him the same courtesy you have shown me. All of you except TT. You need to treat him nicer then you have me at times. Don't be sending him any nasty pm's.

Arby54: Thank you and I hope you get some good use from the sander. I look forward to reading your post's.

Yeah, I don't have too much faith in people anyway, so it makes me feel good to meet those who are a stand up breed. The only other person I've dealt with in here is TT and he is definitely someone who can be trusted. So far that is a total of two. If I keep going, I just might find some more. I can say I've dealt with several of you guys that I wouldn't mind living a little closer to. But this site is second best to that. I'm glad I found this place. Some of you guys are really knowledgable and have helped me figure out a few things.
