Default Wood Drying

I need to finish drying my wood before I start to build my project. Does anyone have any inexpensive ideas? I have heard of building a box with a light bulb. David733

How wet ? how fast ? and how much ? If it has never been kiln dried and you want to use it inside (unless you live in the arid SW for example, wood can air dry to 7% there, dry enough) A small kiln might be a good idea. For centuries wood has been dried in the attic during the summer, assuming you don't have bugs in the wood-you don't want them in the house. I am not sure about the bulb in a box, there would have to be additional items to promote air flow and a way for the moisture to escape once it leaves the wood.
If it has been dried and has just regained moisture being stored in an outbuilding if possible bring it in the house for a few weeks to acclimate.
Or maybe this thread will interest you ? Small wood drying kiln plans, dry your own lumber
I developed a set of small kiln plans and some of the guys here use it. It is not "cheap" like drying in the attic, but it is pretty fast and safe.
