Default Wheelbarrow handle

I came across a wheelbarrow handle at work today. It is very hard and heavy. I can't tell what kind of wood it is. It has a reddish color although I suspect that's some sort of finish. The only thing I can really tell you about it is that it is made in Malaysia. Any ideas on what it might be? Maybe it needs to come home with me for some turning.

Could be Mahogany or Redwood. A picture would help.

The redwood wood that I used to get in California was neither hard nor heavy. I built a patio deck, railing and benches out of it many years ago and it was very easy to work with. In those days (1964) it was even relatively cheap.
