Unique Machine and Tool

We have used door making equipment from Unique for over twenty years. The equipment is pretty good, but service is terrible. We had a fire in 2015 with a total loss. We were going with another company, but were convinced by the vp that we would be taken care of. They gave us a few dollars for our old equipment which we were to send back. Rebuilding has taken the better part of two years. With machines down last week we were informed that we would receive NO support till the old hulks were ready to send back. We put them on pallets today, and sent an email that they could be picked up at any time. We got an email back that they wanted a picture of them on pallets before they would give us service. We have spent over $500,000.00 on equipment and this is what we get!!!!! Not a very happy Unique customer at this point. Would NOT recommend them!!

Customer support is worth a lot. I've found that even the 'high end" machine companies vary greatly in their support. My best of the best goes to Schelling. Very, very good goes to Komo & Weinig. Since my post would be pulled if I listed the worst of the worst .....

[QUOTE=Eric Brown;1613361]We have used door making equipment from Unique for over twenty years. The equipment is pretty good, but service is terrible. We had a fire in 2015 with a total loss.

We were going with another company, but were convinced by the vp that we would be taken care of. They gave us a few dollars for our old equipment which we were to send back. Rebuilding has taken the better part of two years.

Have you gotten back the machines that were to be rebuilt? If not what have you used in the meantime.

With machines down last week we were informed that we would receive NO support till the old hulks were ready to send back.

Are these the original "old hulks" or some other? What type of support were you expecting?

We put them on pallets today, and sent an email that they could be picked up at any time. We got an email back that they wanted a picture of them on pallets before they would give us service.

What type of service can the give you at this time. Loan you machines until yours are repaired?

We have spent over $500,000.00 on equipment and this is what we get!!!!!

Was this what your original equipment costs. Repair costs? Or what?

Not a very happy Unique customer at this point. Would NOT recommend them!
