Default tool sharpening

With the price of getting tools sharpened I'm thinking of buying a tool sharpening system. Has anyone used the : central machinery 8" Wet/6" Dry Grinder. It is less than 79.00 and is supposed to go down to 59.99 after Thanksgiving. I don't a have lot of money to spend on the system other wise I would go with the work sharp or Tomek system. I would mainly use this for lathe tool and woodcarving knives.

thanks
Arthur

My neighbor, stone mason, has one. They use it a lot. It works
as advertised. They are very happy with considering the price
they paid.

This one?:

I know this is an old thread, but maybe the subject should be reviewed again, with a twist. I realize a lot of you guys like Harbor Freight tools; I've got some of their hand tools, mostly clamps, too. They get the job done at a decent price. However, I've had two of their 4" angle grinders melt down on me after only a few uses. I question the quality of motors used in HF power tools. For this reason I now only buy name brand power tool. Yes, they are still made in China, but hopefully Quality Control is better.
Now to the wet/dry grinder itself. A few years ago when I was looking into buying a grinder, I considered this HF unit. Not knowing anything about sharpening requirements I used guidelines I found in an article. I don't remember the number, but it seemed to me the rpms of the wet wheel were way to high for grinding without burning or doing something bad according to the article. More importantly, the wet wheel was not the "white" friable type wheel recommended. So I chose the Delta model. Maybe I was misled by the article and maybe this grinder works well for sharpening your shop tools, I don't know. Your input on the subject may save a novice some aggrevation if I was right, or some bucks if I was wrong.

I agree, there is a bunch of cheep tools for sale at H.F. but I have found that their top brands (the blue and gray color power tools) are better than the very cheep (mostly orange colored) tools. I have a 3 1/2" power planer that works very well, I hope it lasts. No doubt I would steer clear of H.F. tools if I were doing production work, but a weekend woodworker like me can find some bargains there.

Harbor freight has good stuff and bad stuff and very little excellent stuff. I would stay away from harbor freight if you are looking for precision tools, and I wouldn't purchase any of their orange power tools.

With that said, I like the Central machinery tools available at harbor freight as work horse machines or roughing tools. I have their belt sanders, band saw, grinders, and air compressor. All these tools work very well.

I also like buying up clamps when they go on sale.
