Default table saw fence

Hello to all, I recently posted in the off topic section looking for anyone that may live near me that could maybe give me some help. I have a Delta 36-714 left tilt table saw. I have never had such a problem squaring the blade and every time I lock the fence I can not keep it square to the miter slot. I swear that this thing is laughing at me as I have been at it for two days with no luck. I just built a cross cut sled and I can't set my runners without the fence being square. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I might add that this site has been better than any book I have read and you could not ask for a better bunch of people. Take care, Sarge

That is really odd for a Unifence to act like that from my experience. I have had a Unifence on my Contractors saw since I bought the saw new in 1995 and have been very happy with it. I will give you one piece of advice though, be very careful when your adjusting the fence, if the lockdown gets too tight you can break the cam that goes into the rail. Have you looked to see if the rail is bolted snuggly to the saw ?

The "T" part of the fence that rides on the rail has adjustment allen screws on the inside side of the rail. These carefully turned will shift the angle of the fence so you can parallel it to the miter slots/blade. If you turn the one on the right in, the end of the fence moves left, etc.

I am having a problem understanding what you are saying. Are you using the term square to mean perpendicular, like in a right angle? This is the standard meaning of square.

Or are you using the term square to mean parallel? The saw blade should be parallel to both the accessory slots and also parallel to the fence.

What happens is when I lock my fence the back part will move out to the right. When I measure the setting using a square in the miter slot I come up with an 1/8" difference from the front to the rear. As to where I am I live in Dewitt MI just 10 miles north of Lansing. Thanks to everyone, Sarge
