My wife always asks me to turn the sound down since our bedroom is in the same house as the TV. I have a second floor above my barn workshop and I converted it to a office and TV room. It is insulated with spray foam which also works as a great soundproofing material. Now I can crank up my sound system so loud that I almost have to leave.
