Default Slab Table Legs

I have been searching online for a couple of weeks now in a attempt to figure out the sturdiest way to design my table. I have a slab of walnut, that is 2 inches thick, 30 inches wide and 12 feet long. I plan on cutting off 30 inches off from either end of the slab to make the legs. In the end my table will be about 7 feet long.

The question is, how do I attach the legs to the slab? On other tables I've used the metal clips that allow for the movement, on this table I'm afraid they would be too flimsy. I was thinking about using a wedge type MT to attach the top of the legs into the base of the table, but I'm not sure how that will hold up with the movement.

Thanks for your help.

I guess I don't know the best way, but I am getting ready to make a bench and I plan to use a mortise and tenon all the way through the top. It will be walnut legs (and slats) with white oak top so I think it will be a nice contrast.

I will be interested in what others have to say though

I'm no expert but I wouldn't expect a whole lot of movement on a slab that size. I could certainly be wrong, but I think attaching an apron and then attaching the legs to the apron would allow movement of the top without problems.
