great looking shop - Kenbo - the last photo - looks like you have lots of things over the door - does that mean that you go in and never come out?

Very nicely organised kenbo. I have the same Rigid sander as you, and it looks like we have the same dc and air filter. You must visit Busy Bee a lot.

That's a great shop you got there, besides you know what they say "size dosent mater"
It's amazing what you can fit in and what projects you can do in a small shop.

Ken, That's a great shop. I finished mine in September last year. I still don't have it organized, and it doesn't look like I will anytime soon.

I don't believe that, as woodworkers, we have the ability to ever have our shop fully organized. All it takes is one new sander and the entire organization process starts again. We can no longer have our sanders the way that they were. We can't just place the new sander with the rest, because it throws everything else off. Therefore, we have to reorganize the entire shop. This is usually the way that it works for me. Keeps me outta trouble.

This is why I choose not to be organized. If you try to be organized you need to do it again and again and again. Not organized is a one time deal. Done.

And then you spend 20 minutes looking for your ripping blade, or extra battery for you cordless drill. LOL

Nope, I have a system of disorganization. If I organize I'll be lost

One of my biggest problems is I can't work on one project until it is finish. I always get three or four projects going at the same time. I think that is the biggest reason my shop is always a little messy.

I have a place up in Mass that is about 1/2 hour from my shop. I can FAX them a drawing and get a quote. If I agree I tell them to make it. They deliver it to me and send me an invoice. I always talk with Rich. I am sure that they would UPS stuff out to you.

Default A truly small shop

Ok guys, I have enjoyed seeing some nice shops. My shop is very small as you will see. It is 12 x 15. Everything I could put on wheels received them. Even my assembly table is on wheels with storage below it. I roll the tools out during projects as I do NOT have a dust collection system (I know, either you have a dust collection system or you are one!!). It is a great shop except I can't do big projects if rain or bad weather. Gets pretty HOT here in SC also.

Thumbs up

I agree, it is clean. As I said, I do all the woodworking outside. I still use shop vacs attached to saws, etc. I also keep things clean due to small size. It is hard to find things when cluttered. Being organized appeals to my meticulous nature (I am a surgeon by day, and a woodworker by nights and weekends!).

Great looking shop. It just goes to show that organization is the key to utilizing any size shop. I really like your under the bench storage and the loft area. One suggestion.....you may want to consider purchasing a couple of rigid tools. The people at Home Depot must know you by name.
Great shop.

Default pdiesel, great shop

WOW, that is beautiful and I am sure envious. Everything is clean, well organized and compact. Just the way I like it.
My shop looked similar to yours for about a week or two when I 1st moved into my new home and then it started to fall apart after a couple of projects. And now after a couple a hundred projects, well I guess I’ll leave that one alone.
You have motivated me though. I’m in the middle of a few pressing projects right now with so little time, but as soon as I get done, I’m going to put everything else on hold and rearrange my shop.
The first project after that will be to modify my workbenches for wheels. I also have everything on wheels except for the workbenches and I even bought the wheels a few years ago.
