Default Shop Layout

So, i've been spending a lot of time in my shop basically building my shop...
making jigs and tables and whatnot.
What are your opinions about this shop layout?
does this seem to make sense?
would you do it differently?
TS = table saw
BS = band saw
DP = drill press (bench top)
There is a pegboard above the old counter w/ cabinets and many hand tools and clamps go there.
My pancake compressor is under the counter top where the dishwasher once was.
The TS is on a mobile base, so if needed it can be rolled around for special circumstances... and the infeed/outfeed tables are on adjustable feet, so they can be leveled anywhere in the shop.

How do you bring raw materials in and store them?

good question...
right now, anything that won't fit through a window has to be carried down the switchback stairs.
Generally I bring wood in, store it for only a few days, then build something with it.

All my scraps (the ones worth keeping) get stored standing up in various places all along the perimeter of the shop wherever there's room.

Do those stairs go down from the shop or up from the shop? Grizzly has a nice workshop layout planner for free.

the stairs go up from the shop to the first floor of my house... this is the basement.
Not a walk-out

hmm... well, thanks, but i've pretty much already done that part of it...
I'm looking for a way to optimize it.
Is this the best use of the space?

Drawing it is not a problem.

Why that table so tight to the stairs? Looks to me it will make life Interesting getting thru that space with anything but your body

good point on that table... maybe I could put it up against the staircase on the table saw side?

When I layed out my shop I had in mind how I wanted it. I used my table saw as the main piece, and worked around it. After I had everything set I started working on projects. After working in my shop for awhile I decided there were things I didn't like and changed them. It is all about flow and how it works for you. If there is something you don't like change it. I feel it is all about personal preference. If you like the way it is layed out leave it.
