Default NYW Ending - wish it weren't so

New Yankee Workshop is officially out of production. I'm really sorry to see it go.

Yes it is. To me at least, his show was alot closer to reality than the other wannabe's that used to be out there. TOH has gotten to be just new house building and advertising. Ask TOH is dedicated to DIY.

Unhappy

Norm helped me SO MUCH!

... to get back into woodworking after my health told me I NEEDED to do something different from what I was doing.

I still enjoy the programs even if I have seen them a few thousand times!

I'm sure what you are able to get on the cable in your area. At one time I could record 4-5 wood related shows in my area. Not one now ZERO is the number.

I do miss those shows, probably should have shouted as they were being dropped.

A lot of those shows were produced in batches with longish breaks between them, so you didn't know they were really canceled until they were long gone. I found some were shifted around the schedule so much that I didn't even find out about them until they were half over.

That's too bad. That is the only woodworking show available here for years.

They must have needed the space for more damn reality shows.
What a shame.

I can get PBS programs off the air... The "Create" channel has a few of them... NYWS, Woodsmith Shop, Turners, & other interesting stuff.

If it's his decision to quit, I wish him the best.
If it isn't... I'm officially ticked.

Netflix and Hulu have quite a few PBS shows in their catalogues. I watched a documentary on Shakers last night on Netflix streaming. PBS also has quite an extensive video library - You can check your local affiliate's website and possibly buy them.

It's too bad to see the show go off the air. I'm sure there are many years of reruns. Norm is a great guy and I'm sure he will enjoy the slow down. He has built everything under the sun so not much else to build. The show will be missed. I've met him several times and he was always a pleasure to talk to.

I have a TV in my shop. When reality shows come on, I just turn it off.
