Default Need help building a chair!

Hi all! I'm back! :-D

My spica chair business has been doing great, but I'm grounded until spring (got to wait for the snow to melt so I can work outside again) so I'm concentrating on coming up with a simple design that would be easy for anyone to build, for those who want to make their own spica chair.

I've come up with what I think is a pretty good design, but I need to figure out how to attach the upper frame to the rockers on the bottom.

The top part is basically a box with 2x4's making up the corners of the frame. I need to figure out how to attach these 2x4's to the rocker pieces, they are just 1x 8 boards with a curve cut across the bottom. What kind of fasteners would be appropriate for this?

TIA!!!

Bolts and then plug the holes or could you just use 1" oak dowels. I am sure they would never break.
