I have scraps of Melamine (1/4") that I use between the clamp and the wood being glued. We all know that to glue Melamine, you need to use Roo glue. Well I accidental glued two pieces of Melamine together using TB-III. Pulling them apart was very difficult and the Melamine de-laminated rather than the glue failing.

WEIRD, HUH?

I've tried Roo Glue, and I'm not impressed. I wouldn't trust any glue other than a two part epoxy on non-porous surfaces. I treat melamine (low pressure laminate) as I would high pressure laminate (like Formica®). Instead of just a butt joint and screws, I'll rabbet or dado 1/8" deep just to get a substrate contact and use glue. Doing that, just about any white or yellow glue will work.

I've used the titebond melamine glue on butt joints with pocket hole screws and I had to break the wood to get it to come apart.
