I am renting a mini-storage for my shop and I am getting back into turning. Im kinda cramped now and am thinking of expanding into the unit next door.
I dont have anywhere to store fresh cut logs. If I put them in the mini-storage building, what can I do to eliminate/kill all bugs. It's understandable why I need to.
I also posted this in the Woodturning Forum

Thanks in advance

You could try sprinkling some Borax around.

First thing is to remove all the bark. Keep the floor of the building and the surrounding ground free of wood debris.

Borat solutions will keep new infestations from occurring. But they do little for logs that are allready infested.

There's some contention about DYI fumigation treatments. I heard of companies that sell the chemicals for the fumigation, but I can't remember where I heard it.

The old tried and true method for treatment is heat. Can you cut your logs into turning blanks small enough to fit into a conventional oven? You need an internal temp of 130F to kill all stages of the bugs. This requires ~160F oven temp for several hours. Check around to confirm the temps I'm showing.

Don't forget to bast them while they are in there. LOL Sorry couldnt resist that one. Wouldn't heat that high cause them to dry out too fast and cause them to check?
