Default Installing concealed hinges with dowels

Hello. Could someone explain how to install concealed hinges with plastic dowels? How do you get the dowels into the holes? Do you need some kind of special equipment, or do you just screw them in or bang them in with a rubber hammer?

Thanks,
Bob D.

Usually you would use the machine that drills the 3 holes and then presses them in. You could probably just pound them in with a rubber mallet.

Leo is correct. A machine is usually used, but with a correctly sized template to bore your holes, you can use a mallet and a block.

There is no advantage other than speed for using the doweled hinge. Unless you are installing great quantities of hinges on a regular basis, a screw in hinge will suffice.
