Has anyone built there on clamping table for us with Kreg system

I've found myself using the kreg system pretty often and I do really like it and would recommend it to anyone, but curious if anyone has built there own clamping table set up instead of buying kreg's system? I do like what I see from kreg but right now I don't have the extra $$ so buying is out of the question for now. For the most part my joints come out lined up good with a careful set up, but I do see the usefulness in a set up designed for the lining up pocket holes, maybe i'm over thinking it, but just curious, if you have, please post your pics, or even comment on what has worked for you and what hasn't. Thanks in advance

There are plans for a really nice assembly/clamping table in the latest ShopNotes, Vol. 21, issue 124.

I plan to build it as soon as I have more room or can figure out a way to make the base "breakdownable".

Jeff

I just got back from lunch. Here it is. It looks pretty versatile and I think it would be a really fun project.

The key to the Kreg clamping system is the vise-grip pliers with pads instead of jaws. You can get the pad vise grips at a welding supply place.
