Default Glue Up

Hey guys,

Quick question,

When using a poly glue like Gorilla or Bolder Bond should I lightly mist the surface to be glued with a little bit of water first?

Thanks,
Tom

I apply the glue to one surface and moisten the other surface either with a spray bottle or a damp cloth.

Hi Tom

I damp both surfaces...

Have a look here
http://www.gorillaglue.com/glues/gor...irections.aspx

And yes, it expands...that's the reason that you need a higher clamping pressure that you apply with the "normal" glues.

Keep a bottle of "Nitro-thinner" near-by to wipe your hands while the glue is still not set otherwise, you'll get "black spots" that will take a few days to remove.

I use latex gloves when working with the stuff. I also make my glue ups large enough that I can trim away the squeeze out and run it through the planer.
