Default First kiln load
I'll be pulling my first load of 5/4 red oak outof the kiln tomorrow.Should I joint and plane it now or is it best to do it as I need it?Any suggestions helpful.

I'd leave it alone, and plane it when needed, unless you have a climate controlled area to store it.

Plane it as you need it. If for no other reason, it is likely to get damaged just hanging around. Things just happen.

Yeah, I wouldn't plane and join it until I need it just b/c of humidity changes in the air can cause the boards to change as well. Plus if your luck is anything like mine, you'll plane the boards down and later on find out that you need an extra 1/16th of thickness on a certain project or something.
