Default exotic lumber?

Good evening everyone! New to the forum.
I have a question...I'm looking to build a nice coffee table and I am considering using mahogany or cherry...or anything else someone recommends.
My question is where is the best place to go to get this type of wood?
I llive in Jacksonville, FL and really have no idea on where to go to get it. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Kris, you can get that wood at woodcraft http://www.woodcraft.com/stores/Defa...state&state=FL but you'll pay for it. If I were you I would look up in the yellow pages or on the internet for some local sawmills in your area and see what they have and compare prices. I don't purchase alot of lumber from stores or anywhere for that matter (get my own logs milled) but from what I've heard you will get better wood for your money with a local guy.
