Tony,
I went to the site for this jig. I have seen this system demo'ed at woodworking shows before. I also read the reviews. Two out of the three reviews seemed to be unhappy with the jig. The third looked like it was written by the company. I personally don't care for the odd-shaped dovetail joints. Looks a little too 'cartoonish' to me. Just my .02. Also, looks like a lot of money for what's there.

Hey Tony,

I know the inventor (and owner of one of the largest online woodworking suppiers) of that jig system personally. If you like the look of the joints then by all means get his system. IMO he found a great niche, especially for crafts etc. He even has a teddy bear joint for kid's furniture/toys etc.

If you have a problem with it (which I doubt) he'd make it right I know. He is a man of integrity and will stand behind his product 100%. All you have to decide is whether or not you like the joints it makes (I do) and if so, don't be afraid to buy it. It's very high quality and you won't find better customer support.

I don't know why it got a couple of unfavorable reviews but I'll guess it had something to do with the operators maybe, but I know there have been hundreds of happy users of the system. You can also talk to him before you buy it, if you'd like to. PM me and Ill put you in touch with him. He's a down to earth guy and very easy to talk to. He wouldn't try to "sell" you, he'd just answer your questions.

Yes I am biased about it but I'm still giving my honest opinion.

The jig is on Craigslist in my area. I dont care for the heart shaped joints. It does look cartoonish, but was wondering how well it would work on regular dove tails.

They would look cartoonish on a chippendale replica, but any craftsman who would undertake that project would know that. For the craft industry which most of the templates were designed for, they look great on those types of projects.

The system does have traditional dovetail templates, and you don't have to buy the cartoonish templates if you don't want. Here's a link to the kit.

Well, I bought it for the asking pricce of $120. Once I found out I knew the seller from a woodworking club, I didn't have it in me to bargain. Would not have been fun anyway.
Well, turns out that the box was opened but many the individual components were never removed from the plastic wrap. This was never used and is the larger system with all of the extra templates and the 2 DVD's.
I'm not sure when I will ever get to trying it out but I figure I can always sell it and get my $120 back if I dont like it. I just want it for the standard dovetails and blind dovetails. Never know though, I might just like the 'cartoonish" template.
Thanks for the input.
