Default Crown molding question

I am going to be making a floating shelf and I want to use crown molding under the top piece of the shelf and attach it to a piece at the bottom. I was wondering if anyone has a good chart they use for the angles or just any good old advise.
Thanks

If you are simply returning the crown back towards the wall, just use 45 degree cuts. The key is making sure your crown sits at the same height on your fence assuming you are cutting it standing up and not lying flat on your saw. Some use stop blocks for this.

Joesdads way is the best way to do it.just hold the piece on you chop saw as if the table is the ceiling and the fence is the wall and cut your 45.you can also do it with the stock lying flat on the saw but it becomes a compound miter. Just Google crown molding angles and you can get the chart.

If you're not experienced with cutting crown, and confused with the bevel/miter settings for cutting flat. It can be cut standing at the angle it sits (whatever that is) and just setting the MS or CMS @ 45 degrees. First cut the lengths to fit the underside of the shelf. Then cut the bottom piece to fit what those dimensions are.
