I have wanting to try this for a while. I'm not too pleased with it and may try again. I used a small rotary tool to sand out the Bass wood to form Jesus and It was my first try. I learned from this and will do much better next time.

Jesus is made of Basswood? what is the cross made of? or are they the same piece of wood?

very nice. i can't imagine sanding a figurine out of a block of wood is an easy task.

The cross is 3 pieces of Cocobolo wood,very hard, very beautiful. I didn't have enough of the wood left and had to piece 3 together to make it.
