Default compound miter saw question

I have a compound miter saw that is kind of not old but it ain't new either. SOmetimes it cuts great sometimes it smokes really bad and I can't work in my shop very long afterwards. What would be the reason for it smoking so bad.

If the smoke smells like wood, then it's the blade. If it smells line burning plastic or rubber and makes you want to sneeze and your eyes water, it is probably the motor and you should immediatly shut-duwn and unplug, as thes may pose a serious fire hazard.

You may also have gum buildup on the blade --- try cleaning in addition to sharpening.

Push the blade down harder. Just kidding. Sharpen or replace the blade.

Is it a Chevy brand...if so theres your problem. Paint Ford on the side and the issue is solved

Sounds like the question was answered. But, excessive smoking could be caused by a severe nicotine habit.
