Default Can you identify this wood?

Even without a pic, I'm betting one of you guys can tell me what this is but, unfortunately, I can't confirm any guesses.

I bought a load of mixed hardwoods from a guy that owned a small trim business. He was retiring and selling everything he had.

What I got was mostly oak. Then there's this other stuff that I've started building a bookshelf with. It looks kinda like oak but it's as lightweight as poplar. When I machine it, it smells mediciny, like muscle cream or something. Does that give it away? I hope so, because I don't know what this is. If I have to, I'll get a pic, but I don't have a digital camera so it'll take a little while.

I'd appreciate any input.

This stuff is pretty easy on the tools (forgot to mention that) so I don't think it's Ash. I've never worked with any White Cedar, and that would explain why I didn't know what it was. Hmm...if this is cedar, I may find a different use for it.

Thanks guys.
