Reo,
You came to the right place. Talk to the Texas Timber man above. He has some of the wildest box elder around. I've got a few pieces sitting in my shop waiting to turn.

Hawk I have been wondering about those and why we haven't seen any pictures. You're off the hook for now. . . . .

Hey Tex,
I haven't turned anything in the last couple of months. I am restoring one of my old Hodaka dirt bikes. I am almost done with it. I had the bike completely apart, stripped everything. Repainted all the paintable parts. Tore the motor down to the bare cases. Had to install a rebuilt crank, new top end, all new bearings, seals, clutch, etc. I didn't want to raise a bunch of dust while the motor was still apart. I am probably going to let the box elder sit for awhile to dry. I don't want to mess that up. Also still trying to figure out what I want to make out of it.

Sounds like a worthy project. Just don't break your woodworking appendages when you wrap that throttle back. My wife used to ride all the time. In fact, when we were in HS she would never fail to exert her dominance over me on the dirt bikes. The first few times we went riding together she would pass me on trails where it was possible, steer to my other side, drop back, and pass me on the other side yet again. Repeat process over and over. It took me a few minutes to realize what she was doing. Literally riding circles around me.

I never did get good enough to hang with her on a dirt bike but few could. She was always the target of the other guys because she was almost always the only girl rider and always at the front of the pack.
I guess female riders are alot more common and accepted, but back in 1976-77 it was not cool to eat the dust of a girl!
