Question Best method for fixing split in stile

I have an 1880's washstand cabinet that has a door made using tounge and groove joints the wood is oak. One stile on the door has a slightly diagonal split about 4 - 5 inches. I think I can reglue the split but was thinking I may need to insert two pegs or plugs to keep the split together and make the stile stronger.

Ideas?

If it's a nice clean split that can be clamped tight, no need to peg it. Use something like this glue injector.

Using TBII or TBIII, inject glue in the split. Clamp up to get some squeeze out. Release the clamps. Add more glue, and clamp up until cured. Wipe off excess glue with a damp rag.

If the split does not look like it will clamp tight and there may be a slight gap or voids use a two part epoxy and glue the split and clamp up.

I agree with Cabinetman. However i use a medical syringe. You can but it at any Tractor Supply or if you are a regular at your local pharmacy you can buy a syringe and needle for a few dollars. I get mine at Tractor Supply. I use them a lot to inject glue into a split.

Good ideas. The oak is split diagonally through the stile so the split is not clean. It's through the stile enough that I can actually open the split to apply glue to the first few inches and then use a injector for the last inch or two. It looks like I need to clamp horizontally and then vertically or one side may "slip" up onto the mating side since it's like glueing two wedges together.
