Question Band saw blade sharpening

I have a pretty good assortment of 1" TO 1 1/4" dull band saw blades.
( Blades are 158" long, ranging from 1 to 3 teeth / in )
Is it feasable to have them sharpened.
If so, does anyone know of someone that does this sharpening?
I'm located in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.

Generally, it isn't cost effective to sharpen b/saw blades. By the time sharpen all teeth, reset blade "set", cost is too close to original price.

Lightbulb Bandsaw Blades

Those blade you've got there seem to be the same size as sawmill blades from Woodmizer. They sell a sharpening system and you may be able to send them in for sharpening as well. You might check it out. My friend has a Woodmizer, and I was surprized at how reasonable the blades were $20 if I recall. The ads that apperar above the toolbar for this site include Woodmizer , Cook and others websites, so you're just a click away from them. Re used blades, I'm in the same boat. I hate to throw Anything out. Harbor Frieght sells a chainsaw sharpener for about $30. I bought one. It could be adapted for the larger tooth blades? It sets the angle and the depth, both required. The Woodmizer set-up supported the blade with long horizontal arms which would also be required. Just my thoughts, bill

Don't even try. If you find a way to effectively way sharpen them, in a reasonable cost range, they will still break apart. It is like a low cost 10" circular saw blade. You can buy a new one, cheaper than sharpening an old one. Just bite the bullet and get a new replacement. One thing that you must check, be sure that the guides, tension and guide bearings are always set correctly. If not, your blade can get dull quickly.

I have read, (but have never experienced) that sometimes, when setting the kerf of a bandsaw blade, the brittle nature of the spring steel type blade can cause teeth to snap off. I don't know if this is true or not. As I said, I only read it. (consider that a disclaimer )

I have had that problem with Simmons Red Streak blades and that is why I wont ever use them again.

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone for the info.
I suspected that it's not all that feasible the sharpen them, but I also hate to throw out anything that's usable. ( yep, I'm frequantly called a 'pack rat' )
I will check out the Wood Mizer system though.

Default Wood Mizer

Checked out Wood Mizer, looks good so far, $7 per blade to sharpen + shipping, they gave me a very prompt reply & are sending me more info. Their blade prices look pretty good also, I think I'll give them a try, sounds better that automatically throwing away my dull blades.
