Default Apprenticeship

Hello All,

I just got back from Rochester, NY last night. After school ened I spent another three weeks there doing an apprenticeship. I worked for Richard Sands. He is CEO of Constelation Brands, one of the top alcohol distributers in the world. CEO day job woodworker at heart. His shops is two floors and has every tool you will ever need.

He works alot with big logs. With that being said he has a Bobcat to move the logs, to his small mill. Then he has a lathe that is capable of turning a 10,000 pound logs. I was blown away. He took a liking to me right away. When he was away on business he trusted me to design additions to his projects.

I found out that he owns a custom production furniture shop in NY. Wendell Castle runs it. If you dont know who Wendell Castle is you should be ashamed. It turns out through the years Richard has had many RIT woodworking students come through his personal shop at his home, then after they graduate if he takes an interest with them possible offers them a full-time job at his shop that Wendall runs. So we will see where that takes me.

Thought I would just share all that with you
