Is there any way to make woodworking talk AD free?

These auto-play flash ads and sleazy clickbait links are getting pretty oppressive. I know you need revenue for the site, but can we do something about it?

The answer to your question will only be as detailed and specific as the question is detailed and specfic. Good questions also include a sketch or a photo

There are some adds in the right hand column, but they certainly do not bother me.

What bothers me far more is this ludicrous security this site is using so it can look like the big boys. I was gone for 10 days to Las Vegas and had some problems and never was able to get them squared away.

Auto-play ads should be soundless and should only activate if your mouse hovers over it. It's for guest users as well so if you're logged in and they auto-play, please grab a screen shot and a URL. Include your IP location in the report as well.

I use unlock origin. It's like AdBlock plus, but doesn't allow any ads, unlike AdBlock plus which has started allowing ads that pay them

Using Adblock Plus, I don't see a single ad ....however it's taking longer and longer for this site to load a page. It says it's waiting for "adcntrl" or some such thing to load..... waiting and waiting sux.

Are you still experiencing this slowdown?

Is anyone else coming across the ads as discussed above?

Richard.

There are "slow" daze and fast daze. Who knows why?
That day was unusually slow. I'm running Win XP and Firefox with Adblock Plus. That's the entirety of my computer knowledge....It's running fine right now. Maybe on weekends there too much web traffic for the servers to handle? OR the Russians have hacked our site?
