Default Subscribing/unsubscribing to a thread

I'm a little confused about subscribing/unsubscribing to a thread. Do I automatically get subscribed when I post to a thread? If so, is there a way to not have this happen? If not, is there a way I can unsubscribe to all threads at once without opening each thread? My problem is that I am on this site everyday anyway, so I really don't need or want a bunch of emails everyday telling me someone has replied to a thread I am subscribed to.

When you post look below the message box "additional options" there is a thread subscription option, chose no email notification.

ok, thanks Daren. Does this now become the default for any thread I post in?

No, that is just for each one when you post, sorry I guess I misunderstood the question. To set it as default for all, up in the top left hand corner of this page there is "User CP" click that and under "setting and options" you can set your subscription default to do not subscribe or no email notification.
