Default Site Suggestion

Thought of something that would be nice to have. I have absolutely no idea how hard/time consuming it would be to do but... I have noticed some other online forums give the option of being notified by email for each thread individually. I know we can currently be notified by email but it's for any thread we comment on. I like being notified when I start a thread or when someone else post a thread and I make a comment like, "I too have always wanted to know that". I would rather not get an inbox full of notifications after I compliment someones work.

Anyway, just a thought. Not something needed, but just a nice feature. Love the site - Keep up the great work!!!

Maybe I am not fully understanding the question/suggestion. When you post scroll down to "thread subscription" and chose from the following.

Do not subscribe
No email notification
Instant email notification
Daily email notification
Weekly email notification

If you want to comment on some ones work but don't want an inbox of others doing the same chose "no email notification"

Daren, I know that. But isn't that for the whole sa-bang? I mean, as I am typing right now, I would be able to check a box below where I am typing that says "E-mail Notification" or someting of the like, and I would only be notified to that thread. Likewise, if I commented on someones work, but didn't want an inbox full of notifications that others had done the same, I wouldn't check the box.

Does that make more sense?

I just noticed it on another site, and thought it was a nice feature

You can change your Default Thread Subscription Mode here: http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/profi...do=editoptions which will effect all your activity. If you would like to just subscribe to one specific thread you can use the "Thread Tools" pull down menu at the top of the first post.

Thanks Nathan. I've never noticed that before (funny, because I have looked), but that's what I was thinking. Thanks!

Sorry Daren, I completly misunderstood what you were saying here. But I got you now. I guess it just took one more reply to pound it home. Thanks!
