Default Selecting a partial quote.

Hi There

I have noticed that some members are selecting part of a quote to respond to. I have tried selecting a portion of a quote, but I always end up with the entire quote. Can any body tell me how to select a section of a post to use as a quote?

Thank you.

Gerry

Highlight what you want out, but leave the boxed in quotation marks, and hit the delete button on your keyboard.

It is really easy to do. You hit the Quote button on the bottom just like normal. Highlight everything you don't want. And delete the unwanted stuff.

Make sure to leave this ({quote=Gerry KIERNAN;52488}) Can any body tell me how to select a section of a post to use as a quote?

Thank you.

Gerry
And this( {/quote} )

And Walla it is done.

It's tough to show because the forum software won't display them as text. What you need to do is leave the quote tags inside the brackets at the front and end but edit the bits inside as you like. These tags are hard to show unless you use the wrong brackets instead. So this:{quote}Here's a quote.{/quote} becomes this:
Quote:
Here's a quote.
when you use the correct square brackets ([ and ]) instead of {and}.

Hope that helps.

Edit: Bah: Handyman beat me to it. :-\

I use a simple method, by just clicking "quote", and when the quote appears in the reply, I then set the cursor where I want and just backspace out what I want to delete.
