I visit another forum that uses the same software, http://www.largeformatphotography.info/forum/ and it acts a lot better than this one in that it will update posts already read between visits. This one doesn't, it takes about a day before resetting. I'm wondering if theres something set up differently to cause that? It makes it a bit annoying checking to see if any new posts were added lately and everything shows as new, even those read during the last visit.
