Default What's the answer?

Maybe someone here can help (I'm hoping so).

The problem is this...I am able to access this web site just fine on one computer, but am NOT able to access it on my other computer. Same service provider, same Interned Explorer, same Everything.

I have talked with my service provider and they spent about an hour & a half trying to fix the problem. Finally they said it was impossible for this to be happening. I can access ALL other web sites that I have in my bookmarks. Just not this one. This is the ONLY one that says IE cannot find webpage.

So if there are any computer experts here that would like to tackle this, I would appreciate any and all help I can ge.

Thank you
Jay

What??? lol

Yes, I think so? I think I have it fixed. I had to run anti malware in safe mode to get rid of it. At least it was working last night when I shut it down. I haven't tried it this morning. Hopefully that will take care of it. Thank you again one and all.

Sounds like maybe you have an unpatched installation of Windoze. There is a good possibility the PC in question has been hit with a DNS poisoning attack, where your DNS is being sent elsewhere. This is a common exploit among malware writers as it redirects you to their own sites to glean your personal information and you'll never know it...

If you have Windows Defender, scan that sucker for any malware, and clean it up.

You could always re-load Windows, or better yet, lose that pig of an OS and install Linux on that thing... Might I suggest CentOS? Look it up at http://www.centos.org ... No viruses, or malware, ever...

Db... Do you use Centos? I've heard some good things about it. I've used Knoppix and had good luck with it as well.

Jay... I'd also recommend using Mozilla Firefox for your web browser.

Re-load windows??? Not a chance. Stop using windows??? Not a chance. Been hit with DNS??? You betch ya! I don't have windows defender. I do have malwarebytes Anti malware. It did discover the DNS. I don't know how to keep it off of here though. Any suggestions on that I would be glad to hear about.

But thanks for the response. At least you know what I got hit with. So, maybe you will be able to help me clean it up and keep it off of here. That is if you feel like helping me.

I have firefox. It does the same thing. And to be quite honest, I like IE better. I've tried to use firefox before and don't really like it.

But, I do think dbhost has hit it on the head.

Thank you Terry

I heard everyone clamoring about Firefox for a long time but I stuck with IE, thinking it was still superior. Well I downloaded it one day just to see what all the commontion was about and after I got used to it I have to say it is better, and I think even faster, than IE. But I never had serious problems with either.

Well for now I have the problem fixed. I just re-installed IE. I have found that I have a web site in my bookmarks that is causeing the problem. If I use it, the web site will d/l malware onto my computer. That only problem is that I don't actually know which web site it is. So, I have been trying to elimanate them one by one. Not an easy task as I have hundres of bookmarks. Oh well, gives me something to do on a rainy day, right guys? But let's face it, if it's raining, then I'll be in the shop making sawdust. I can't save it for a sunny day, I'll be on the goldwing riding. So as long as it dones't come back to haunt me, I'll just leave it alone. At least I can get to this place and my honda web site. That should do me for now.

Thanks again guys, you have been a big help
