I know the feeling. I was home with pneumonia for 2 weeks, and after that the wife wanted me to remodel the kitchen. We have been talking about it for a few years now. So I have been working on the kitchen now for about 4 or 5 weeks and am at a stoping piont. I have put all my jobs on hold since the I got sick. And now I have to go back and earn some money tomorrow.

Due to the fact I have never built cabinets before, I am a little slow at it. I built all my drawers out of 1/2 Blond wood, the sides and bottoms and drawer fronts out of Maple. Painted the inside of all the cabinets and drawers High gloss white. Stained the outside of all the cabinets and drawers with Ipswich pine. I applied 3 coats of minwax Polycrylic and sanded with 400 grit between each coat. Oh yea, The cabinets are 3/4 birtch. I applied 80 sq ft of Sedona Spa Wilsonart counter tops. And hand made over 122 feet of fluted molding. I built an island in the middle of the kitchen and put the dishwasher in the end facing the sink. I lined the inside with 2 layers of 1/2 tar inpregnated fiber board to kill the sound and put 2 layers of 3/4 inch plywood on top of the island. We bought a midgrade Fridgidare dishwasher, and in the insulated island it makes less noise than the fridge. My house is about 24 inches off the ground and high and dry. I spent a whole day under it rerouting drain lines, water lines, and electrical lines to accommodate the new lacations of all the appliances. So I think I will be getting a brake by going back to work fixing every body else broken stuff.
